My previous car was on it’s last leg so I decided to shop for a new car. I met with Tom Hofmann and he was awesome from beginning to end. My credit is pretty challenging. Not only did I get the car I wanted but they also gave me more for my trade to make sure I get the best deal. Let’s just say I’m a very satisfied customer

I went in to see about selling my car to them. A few days prior, I completed the Kelly Blue Book value that sent out an instant cash offer for $9,550. When I went to them, I did not mention the KBB I already completed. After waiting 30 minutes with no one helping me, I finally had to start seeking out a salesman to get some assistance. We took a look at my car, and he said he didn’t see any issues with it. We went back inside and he started completing a KBB instant cash offer, the same thing I did two days prior. He went over all the features of my car with me to make sure that portion was accurate, but when it showed the KBB instant cash offer, it was $6,547, $3K less then what KBB gave me two days prior. When I looked at how he came up with that evaluation, I saw the he marked my car as having major paint scratches and chips on every section of my car, which is not accurate at all. This was a crook move and will never recommend Auffenberg to anyone.

Great experience, they are a well-oiled machine. Aron was my salesperson and he was great. He was very personable, helpful and got answers to my list of questions – most importantly he wasn’t super pushy! It was definitely the most fun I’ve had test driving a car (which sounds weird I know). They also worked with me on my trade in and made the whole process of buying a car painless. I forgot the finance manager’s name who helped me (Cory?) but he was also very personable and made everything really easy. Like I said, well-oiled machine. I would definitely recommend this location.

Tom Hoffman was great. He helped my daughter and I find a great car. Financing was amazing. We were approved with no problems. They accepted our trade and offered close to what we still owed on it. This relieved so much stress. I would definitely recommend Auffenberg.

He knows how to introduce ideas about various vehicles to not only meet your needs but open the customer’s mind to vehicles they weren’t aware of to give a new perspective. After waiting 2 hrs to finally see the car we were there for we found out it wasn’t “ready” and was about to be cleaned at a place down the street . Another employee drove us to see it and we were pleased with it so we started to process of buying after about 2 hrs I was ready to leave but my husband really wanted the car. (we were in an accident and our other vehicle was totaled so our family of 5 was crammed into my husband’s old car until we found something bigger) I left because I couldn’t stand to be there any longer and my husband would just drive the new vehicle home . After a 6 HOUR process he finally came home with the car but was informed they “lost” the 2nd key to the car . They called a few days later and said there was no 2nd key. After talking with my husband they did send us another key at no charge . About a month later the auto passenger window doesn’t work and the DVD player in the back headrest is broken.

My salesman, Darryl, at the preowned center was great! I knew everything I needed to about the truck already. I had been shopping and researching for quite sometime but Darryl was still very informative. I had a minor issue with my truck, (no fault of auffenberg), which Jeremy, the presented sales manger, was happy to fix. I had to go back twice to get it done but they did get it done. They gave me a rental both times through hertz and that’s really the only issue I had. Hertz was a new thing for them. The dealer pays but you have to give a deposit, no big deal. It’s been quite a few weeks since I dropped the rentals off and still neither deposit has been refunded. I found out from my bank that after a certain amount of time the deposits will automatically fall back into my account, again no big deal. Before I knew that, I contacted Jeremy for receipts to give to the bank and after two weeks, still no receipts or phone call. I’ve called since and received no return phone call. Sale of truck was great they happily fixed it when it had an issue. The way vehicles are rented or loaned could use some attention. Based on the sales experience and willingness to fix issues I would purchase from them again.

Really long waits even after having been at the dealership the week before to start a paperwork and pay for the car! Over one our to sign a few basic docs and pick up the car (very fast to cash the check the week before and very slow after that). Biggest concern was that staff was opening not wearing masks while with customers. Sends a strong message that dealership does not care about health of their customer and only interested in turning inventory. Won’t buy a car hear again.

After searching for a decent deal and a decent car after driving a 10+ year old car, the pre-owned lot was very supportive in working with my desired payment plan and finding a good car based off my wants/needs. I visited the regular lot for Nissan, however, I think the best idea would be to first visit the Pre-Owned lot. They’re very helpful and understanding when it comes to a budget. I was able to keep my payments low (less than $300), trade-in my old wheels AND purchase a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus. It was a great bargain, no issues with the vehicle and amazing service.

Unfortunately the vehicle I purchased had some gremlins that just couldn’t be worked out. It’s been 4 months since I brought my 2012 Chevy Equinox. The first month was great until 4 days after when the check engine light came on. I took back to Auffenberg and the said the engine suffered a catastrophic failure and needed to be replaced. Fast forward to today 3/15/21 and my car I’m still paying for is sitting on Auffenberg lot undrivable because Auffenberg do not want to help me. They knew they sold me a ticking time bomb with a very short fuse. Everytime I call they give me the run around. If you are not buying new car or truck don’t every buy used from them.

It wasn’t a bad experience. Except it took extremely long. Like 5 hours long. I was almost late to work and I had to leave directly from the dealership to work. I think my favorite part was the salesman Avery I believe. He was very easy to talk to and got me exactly what I asked for. I had no idea what I wanted. I said good on gas and reliable and the first car he picked I bought. I googled the reviews obviously and it was exactly what I wanted. 8/10 rating on reliability and gets 30mpg on the highway. My least favorite part was the finance department. I told them what I could afford and they chose exactly that. Then wanted me to buy extra stuff they offer. Which is worth it IF you can afford it, but if I tell you what I can afford that’s what I can afford and thats it. I couldn’t wait any longer or else I’d be late for work. So, I purchased things I couldn’t even afford. Which I stated. I understand you have to upsale when you’re selling things, but if I say something I mean it. I’m not even really excited about my new car because I’m worried about how I’m going to pay for it.

BEWARE, when buying a used car from here!!!!! Take your car around the corner at Auffenberg Auto Mechanic (approximately 50 yards from the used car lot) and have them to check it out before driving off the lot. Barely had the car for 30 days and it started to overheat. Had to pay almost $1000 to get it fixed. Glad I wasn’t out of town when it overheated! Car is running fine now, but nervous to take it out of town!

I bought a Volkswagen TDI Passat on a Friday was told it would be in the shop that following Monday to check a code that was on the dash. Monday rolls around it doesn’t make it into the shop. Tuesday rolls around doesn’t make it into the shop. So here we are on Wednesday middle of the day my sales person contacts me and says he can’t find out any information from the service department. So I start calling around. After being on hold off and on for an hour and no closer to knowing anything I hang up.30 minutes later I get a call from a lady who proceeds to tell me the service manager is too busy to call me and that the tech is working on the car. Also that she has no idea when it’ll be done. This has been the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. The only reason I even gave two stars was because the salesperson was a stand up guy.

I’m not a well off man and cannot afford a lot of the offers that they had. The finance rep became rude and disrespectful to me after I politely declined his offers. I would still recommend auffenberg to a friend but I would want them about the customer treatment from the financial department

I drove 3hrs to look at a truck that I found on their website. All communication was fast and accurate. Vehicle was new to their inventory so no pictures were available but they had a salesman go to the vehicle to answer my specific questions. The test drive and resulting purchase went okay, never as fast as I’d like. They did go to great lengths to sell the extended warranty even after I assured them I wasn’t buying it. I’m sure it is policy. I haven’t taken delivery as yet do to the vehicle finishing certification and a few little details taken care of. No reason to believe that it won’t go just as smoothly To add to this review is not easy. The rest of the purchase and delivery was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. The detailing was not ever done, the paint touch-up was done with what looks like the wrong color. The truck had a tire that for some reason needed to be replaced and it was swapped with the spare and then put in as the spare. The tire wasn’t even usable and they deliberately tried to pass it of to me. When I went to pick up the truck they did t have a temporary plate for me and it took 6hrs to get my truck. I could go on but I wouldn’t do business with them again

Because of the Covid Pandemic, it was necessary to conduct my car purchase remotely and the Auffenberg team was exceptional in handling the transaction. I traded photos and descriptions of my car and Auffenberg did likewise with the new car I purchased. All of this was done virtually and despite my skepticism, as I have never purchased a new car in this manner before, the entire experience was flawless. The Auffenberg team was sensitive to my requests to remain contactless and I appreciate the extra effort they extended in making this a satisfying trade experience. Sales experience was ok. I bought the passat sel because I wanted the technology. I get home and try to pair my phone and find out I cannot. The Bluetooth module is missing. Was looking to buy a car and booked an appointment. However when we arrived we found they had double booked an appointment for the same car. So even though we had an appointment and we’re early to it; the person who also had an appointment got their a few minutes before me and bought the car. It was explained to me as a first come first served policy, which seems to make scheduling an appointment pointless.This was a source of great frustration as I was going to be buying the car. The service was nice and they were very accommodating and even showed some equivalent cars but they didn’t fit what I needed like the other one did. So I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Read the negative reviews because they are made by real people. I have never dealt with a worse dealership in my life, and yes I have dealt with several. Save yourself time and do not go here because it will end up costing you in the long run, in my case almost $1000. All they care about is making a quick buck and ignoring their customers once a problem arises. What a joke. Word of advise, dont sell a car that cant even pass an inspection.
My salesman was Avery Jones was helpful, professional and he did a great job. The deal went very quick. My only issue is that I purchased a Certified Pre-owned car. When I purchased the vehicle, I thought that the car had already passed a thorough inspection. I later noticed that my factory exhaust was modified, The mid muffler’s were cut out and the springs on the active exhaust actuator were also removed. I did find the mid mufflers in the trunk where the spare tire would be located. All in all, The labor to install the muffler’s, purchase replacement exhaust springs, buy new valves, and installation and all of the items will cost me $600 out of pocket. This is to bring the car back to the point I thought it was when I bought it.

He is a real down to earth friendly guy that talks to you and treats you like a friend instead of just another customer. The credit dept went out if their way to get the pricing details we requested. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the waiting. I’ve purchased several vehicles in the past and have never waited so much at a dealership. What should have been a couple hours turned into all day. Other than that, pretty much an overall good experience.

Experience was overall good except for we didn’t understand that the cars that you see on the website we’re not ready to be picked up and driven away so even though we got one and we live 250+ miles away we have to bring it back so they can finish the services that they haven’t done to the car including a turn signal light that doesn’t work at all so I just hope that doesn’t put anybody in danger And not all the recalls were up-to-date they don’t give you that page of the recalls that weren’t done until after you’ve already signed the paperwork and paid at the finance department John our sales man he was great I wish they just let you know that the car is on online that you see are not necessarily cars that are ready to be purchased and driven away

We were very pleased with how we were kept in contact with from our very first inquiry to signing the paperwork. There was no heavy pressure at all by our sales agent Crystal who drove a vehicle we were interested in from one location to another to save us a trip. She allowed us to really drive the vehicles on all types of road conditions from highway to local bumpy to local smooth with stop lights and stop signs to really get the feel of the vehicles. Once we made the decision to purchase Crystal and the finance department worked with us back and forth until we reached a point that I was very comfortable with. They also went back one last time at my request even after we thought we had the best finance deal and got a just a little better than either of us were expecting but perseverance paid off. Of course this took a little more time for us to wait but Crystal offered us Coffee, water, and Pizza. We spent 5 hours in our purchase this day but it was well worth it. Our last 3 vehicles have come from Auffenberg, and this has been our first pre-owned experience. It certainly will not be my last. Thanks to the Crystal and the crew at Auffenberg!

My initial contact was Ron Cannon who had Brendan take me for a test drive in a Rogue I saw online. Well, I loved it and it only got better from there. Both Ron and Brendan made me a deal I couldn’t refuse and I went home with the car. The finance person Ryan, was professional and yet personable and got me thru the finance part in great time! I came to the Belleville location looking to buy a used car. I specifically said no, I don’t want to be contacted via phone. I received about 3 calls in the following days… I spoke to an initial salesman, no problem, I prefer to deal with one person only. But 6 emails later from various others, I’m lost on who to talk to. I then perused the dealer website looking at various models, and decided to go to the automall in O’fallon to look at a specific car. I met with another salesman, as the guy in Belleville was off that day. Later in the evening (Monday) I wrote an email to the salesman with an offer and some questions. I called the number on his card the next day and got someone else’s VM. Then found out he was off. Called on Wednesday and finally got the salesman to respond to my offer, accepted, but a disclaimer “there is absolutely no warranty!” I balked at that statement, thinking it was already a foregone conclusion, but why would they be so upfront about it? I mulled it over for a day, then went to contact the salesman today (Friday) to arrange a time to come get the car and clarify why my accepted offer of $8100 turned into $9285 (tax title tag etc, but $1185 worth?) Since he didn’t come in until noon I couldn’t reach him. Then called at 1230 and someone else was already about to finalize a deal on the car. But, oh, “theres other cars here” This dealership again disappoints, and I highly advise against dealing with them. I’ll take my cash elsewhere.

I experience thee worst customer service ever! I bought a new Nissan Ultima 2020 in May. The financing department is very unprofessional! John Hollenkamp sold me my car and he was very nice during the whole process into he sent me to financial department. Where I met James Logston who tricked me into getting this thing called 5 line & E Assurance on top what I already had which is whole coverage insurance & auto butler that was all included in my 23,000 loan ! Line 5 apparently gave me Loan for $7000+ For a warranty on a new car.. I didn’t want this or need it. They won’t let me cancel and keep saying I owe them $1300 .and threaten me they are going to ruin my credit. Nobody from Auffenberg is helpful. Only thing I am not satisfied with is Auffenberg said all vehicles got oil changes when the came in, and it was obvious today when we had to pay $80 to get the oil changed in our sons new car, that was not the case. Not happy at all with the customer service I have received drove 4 hours to look at the truck It was what I wanted didn’t negotiate but it was a fair price decided I would buy the truck and then they tell me that there’s a $300 docking fee that would have been nice to have known before I drove 4 hours to purchase the truck got home 2 days later it wouldn’t start due to the fuel pump/prime went out on a 2013 Duramax now I had my shop repair the primer pump trying to get a hold of somebody to do warranty work for 3 month 3,000 mi only had the salesperson call me back said he would have the manager that’s been 3 days now and they are telling me I have to bring the truck to them for warranty work when I specifically asked if I could go anywhere because I lived 4 hours away and the salesman said yes I could have the work done anywhere horrible experience I would not go back

Scheduled a test drive 4 hours in advance for a Nissan Leaf, confirmed with a phone call: – When we arrived, the salesman had no clue what car we were there to see. He gave us the key fob and left. – The tire pressure light was on. – The Leaf (all-electric) was only charged to drive for less than 30 miles. – The Map SD card (custom made by Nissan) was missing. Without this card the radio/ AC/ map/ camera displays do not function. When we expressed this concern to the salesman: – We were told that a card could be ordered after we purchased the car. – When we said we would not purchase a car that we could not verify what did and did not work we were met with disinterest. They own a Nissan dealership in the same plaza, they couldn’t have borrowed an SD card to verify the functions? With 4 hours of prep time someone could have at least charged the battery and filled the tires. I responded to a canned email that the owner sends when you don’t buy a car, have not heard anything back. Torn between 1 and 2 stars. Will go with 2 because no one murdered us.

My sales associate Scott Hart was awesome as usual. This is my 3rd time using him. He is truly a asset to Auffenberg. A huge shout out to Ben McDonald, who filled in for Scott. Ben is tremendous asset, his style and easy going personality will serve him well. Now for my negative, I didn’t want to confuse the actual selection and negotiation of the vehicle with the visit to the finance dept. We came in with our check. It should have been a in and out process. It took over 2 1/2 hours, it was to the point that we were considering leaving. I realize they were short staffed yesterday but to make a client wait that long to sign 4/5 pieces of paper is unacceptable. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes. That system needs some serious review. I love Auffenberg but honestly when we purchase another vehicle within the year this will weigh heavily of my mind.

It was when I received your company’s reply that my test drive was scheduled for the wrong vehicle, I called and spoke with someone directly to tell them of the mistake. When I arrived, I saw my name and the correct vehicle on your whiteboard in the lobby. How no one could have checked and contacted me first, ai do not understand. In response to your attempt to be “”Timely”” on your website, please note that you are obviously aware of the incident and now, more than three weeks later, the vehicle you told me was sold, is STILL listed on your website. Future customers please beware. Seems a bit shady to me. For your reference, I have attached a picture from your website from today. Maybe you can show this to whoever needs to remove it. That is unless you want to keep bringing people in with the thought of a good deal and then try to sell them a much more expensive vehicle….but that’s your business (literally).”
