Poor experience with the service department. Went for an oil change and plugs. My wife brought the car in and said she had trouble getting help, the service writers were not helpful or friendly. I checked the oil change when she got home found no sticker on the window and found the oil filter had been crushed with pliers when put on. Who uses pliers to put on an oil filter it’s supposed to be hand tight. Called and talked to the service writer said to bring it in. Called and left a message with the service manager, Lee, never got a call back. Went back in and again got bad service. Said it would be an hr to get checked out. Finally got the oil changed again. Hopefully they installed the spark plugs better than the oil filter or else I’m out of luck. Hi here if you want poor service and poor work done.

Loved every minute of my experience! They got our car all ready for us and when we showed up it was ready to go! They did a few repairs on the new car and when it was ready, they drove it to our house to trade in ours! Excellent service!

I give 5 stars for their professionalism, courtesy and keeping me updated when my truck was in for service. BUT I give 1 star for having to pay to have the transmission tweaked and fluids flushed when my 2019 Honda Ridgeline was running rough. I personally feel that should have been covered under warranty and not charged $298. The reason I bought a Honda was for its known durability and sustainability……😒 I’ve had the Honda less than 2 years.

Just ended dealing with Mike Smith after long history of four vehicle purchases. When I purchased a new battery two years ago was told that they are so short staffed that even with an appointment the wait would be three or four hours. Spoke with General Manager and they were able to replace within a reasonable amount of time. Well today that battery failed. Got a jump and drove it in after making appointment. Same story as last time. Would be three or four hour wait. Had loved Mike Smith until poor service experience two years ago and again today. Not to mention fact that their battery died after only two years. Will not subject my self to such poorly managed dealership. Left and bought battery elsewhere. Plan was to buy new vehicle there in a few months. NEVER AGAIN. Why would I and have to experience this type service. Will never darken their door again. Disappointed Doubt this will be posted Just know what to expect if you buy vehicle here.

Love the customer service. Mr. Renfore is funny and down to earth. I would have gave the place 5 stars but no one could help me with the “HONDA” updates required for my vehicle. I was given the suggestion to use personal Wi-Fi to do what was needed on my car. Why would I struggle to do this at home(as I tried before and it didn’t work so that’s why I asked the dealership) when the dealership is supposed to be equipped to service all needs of the vehicles they sale. I give customer service 5 stars, overall a 4 due to lack of ability to update car systems.

I went to Mike Smith to get my Honda Odyssey door fixed. Ginnifer( not sure one the spelling) was great. She got me in the same day, and ordered the parts we needed. One additional part was needed, and she gave us a small discount due to this being unexpected. I will drive one hour (I Luce an hour away) anytime to get this type of service.

Poor service. Went in for a basic oil change and tire rotation. This is the second time I’ve had an issue when taking my car in to Mike Smith. The first time, my skid plate was not secured properly so it came off on the 10 on my way back home. No issues past that bc I was able to call and get the issue resolved. This time at my visit today, my rotation was not done properly and it messed up my alignment. My car pulls to the right and steering wheel is not centered. When I called to have the issue resolved, the lady that answered the phone was so rude and unprofessional. When I started to ask questions about the appointment I had to make, she instantly cut me off and stated that I would need to wait. She also stated that I could possibly have to pay for them to fix it. I just think she had poor customer service skills or maybe had a bad day. i will not be taking my car back there. I would rather go out of my way and go to Port Arthur or even Houston. Ive never had an issue with Honda Service and I’ve lived in 3 states since owning my vehicle.

“I made an appointment for an oil change at 10 am. Recieved a text at 12:47 stating my multipoint inspection was complete. I assume that means my vehicle was ready. I return to the service department. My vehicle is not ready. “”Please have a seat. Maybe an hour, the service tech went to another vehicle when you didn’t respond to the text.”” It is now 2:40 pm. I am still waiting. Andrea is very condescending. My relationship with Mike Smith will be concluded at the end of this experience.”

“Good: Dealership was prompt to make contact with me after I made the initial inquiry. Answered my questions & provided several photos I asked for prior to visiting the dealership. Sales Associate & Used Vehicle Manager were very polite/professional. Dealership facility was clean. Snacks & drinks were offered to us during our visit. Finance department was super fast and easy. Not So Good: After arriving with a specific prescheduled appointment time, we waited an excessive amount of time because the associate was with other customers. So setting an appointment time was useless. This was very disappointing after traveling nearly 100 miles to meet with the dealership staff at predetermined time. We wasted lots of time in wait mode after arriving. Worked with the dealership a day in advance to place a “”hold”” on a specific used vehicle with serious intentions to purchase it. When we arrived at the dealership and were shown the vehicle, it was very dirty – interior & exterior. No attempts to wash or clean it up in prep for our visit. Waited another hour for it to be cleaned. Overall: not horrible but there are lots of room for improvement.”

I went on 12/31/2020 in hopes of getting a good deal on this 2017 Honda Accord EXL. I spoke with the salesperson Carlous. She was nice and kind at first but after a while I could tell her interactions were very forced. She was not genuine in her kindness and her voice had undertones of annoyance, suggesting I was being a bother to her. When I asked her about tech in the vehicle such as CarPlay, cruise control, and menu items, she was not much help at all. She didn’t really know her stuff around the car especially considering she said she had a 2017 accord. Once it came time to negotiate, things got heated. She showed me a sales paper breaking down the price of the car. The taxes and fees were fair and I did not see anything out of place. However, they told me the sale price of the car was 2k higher than stated on the website and that they were giving me a discount. A simple sales tactic used that I avoided. I made an offer and she was immediately offended by my offer saying it was incredibly low when in reality it’s fair. I did my research. I may be a young person but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have the knowledges and resources to truly understand a cars worth. I took into account prices for similar vehicles, depreciation on the car, an accident the car was in, the bare tread left on the tires, and made an offer that reflected that. Carlous immediately called the sale manager who then got aggressive with me. His tone told me “this stupid kid is simply wasting my time. He doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about.” I tried to explain my reasonings and the research I did but he kept shutting me down and cutting me off. I may be new to the negotiation process but I did not expect for it to be so hostile. After I kept getting cut off, I decided it was time to leave. I handed him the papers he gave me and said “thank you for your time. If you need a last minute sale to hit your numbers you have my contact information.” The manager cut me off again and said “we will not be calling you. We are miles away from making a deal.” He then stood up and left. Once again, I may be young but I am certainly not dumb. If I was an older Caucasian customer then maybe I would have been taken serious. But since I’m young they clearly thought I was wasting their time from the jump. Never shipping here again. They lost such an easy sale. I guess they weren’t interesting in making money. Yawn 🥱.

Good deal on trade-in, manager let us haggle and gave us a discount on the new vehicle. Friendly salesmen, they weren’t trying to pull a fast one, weren’t pushy. Jarret handled the documentation, and his candor and content knowledge gave us confidence in our decision. The whole process took maybe 3-4 hours? Not bad compared to past experiences. We even financed through the dealer (which we wouldn’t usually do) because they gave us an incredible APR. Customers for life.

“Purchased a Honda Accord from Mike Smith Honda in 2018. Brought in for service probably 10 times between December 2018 when we purchased and October 2020 when we traded it for another vehicle at a different dealership. Most of the times we brought it in were for oil changes, tire rotation, standard maintenance work. The times we brought it in for those things the staff was nice and helpful and it usually only to 30-45 minutes to complete. The last 4 times we brought it in were not for maintenance. 1) We had paint bubbling off of the emblem on the back of the trunk. 2) The dash made a loud squeaking noise (this was actually a recall. 3) The brakes squealed loudly every time we would pull out of our driveway or any time the car was in reverse 4) The plastic piece around the rearview mirror kept falling off. We brought our vehicle in a total of 4 times for all of these issues. Each time on the dash noise we were told that their technician could not duplicate the noise – I could hear the dash noise over the phone while talking with my wife as she was leaving the dealership. They said the brake noise was “”normal”” because of the ceramic brakes and moisture/humidity – they don’t do that when they are new or people wouldn’t buy them. We were told that they had a new manager with DMSF or some acronym I can’t remember that would have to approve the paint repair and that they couldn’t do anything with it until then. The last straw was when they kept our vehicle for 4 days for all of the issues listed above and the only thing they actually “”repaired”” was the plastic piece around the rearview mirror (all they did was put some double-sided tape on the window to hold it up). They offer no courtesy vehicle so you are just out a vehicle, but here’s where it gets interesting, I had an extended service contract that I did not realize until after the fact covers any rental vehicle during covered warranty repairs. They didn’t bother to ask me if I had the warranty much less let me know that I could have had a rental vehicle. So I called and spoke to the service manager Dale Dowden and let him know that I was not satisfied with the service I was getting and keeping my vehicle for so long and not even addressing the problems. He promised me he would see to it that it was taken care of and that he would call me back the next day. I never received another phone call from Mr. Dowden (not surprising). At this point just being fed up with the whole thing we just took our losses on a trade and got rid of the p.o.s. – they get 1 star only because it won’t let me put 0. I wouldn’t buy a bicycle from Mike Smith, much less a vehicle.”

I have had trouble with the dealership since I got my new car. From work not getting done that was promised and wrote up in my contract, to over charging me on a simple service. Last straw was today when I had to wait 1.5 hours for an oil change that I scheduled days before. Save your money people go somewhere else.

This is the first time using the service department. We’re very clean and took proper measures to ensure close to germ free service. They were very polite, took my car in quickly. Although, they were backed up, it took about an hour and a half, which is what was quoted at drop off. Will definitely be back

Drove from Houston got a funeral. Right before entering Winnie something started flapping under my car. Got out looked at my tires. They were all good. Took off and it started again a loud noise. Pulled over on Highway again and looked under my car. Could see something hanging but not touching my tires. Drove into Beaumont straight to Mike Smith. Thank God they were open and practicing Social Distancing. It was the undercarriage had come apart. They quickly took care of it. No replacement but kind enough to remove the old one. All for Free. I really appreciated it..Kudos to Mike Smith Honda, Jennifer and the most kind Service Coordinator. I had to go straight to Funeral and by the time it was over my car was ready..Thanks so much..I really appreciated your ki dress and prompt service..

Scheduled for oil change and rotate tires. I knew it would take a while due to shortage of help, but surprisingly, it did not take as long as I thought. Waiting for one and one-half hour was not bad. Customer service staff was very friendly and willing to assist in every way.

The sales department treated me well and went the extra mile to get me a better interest rate compared to what I was already approved for through my credit union. I’m so glad they did this because it saved me thousands by getting financed through Honda instead. The Gm made me an offer and I countered with my own and stated if he could do that then it’s sold and he did. The salesman (Tony) did all the required legwork and I drove off in my wife’s new car after it being delivered slightly after closing hours. The color I wanted on the Touring trim wasn’t on site so they had it delivered within a few hours instead of waiting till Monday. It didn’t have the dealer add- ons that was in the price so they tinted the windows the next week and I’m currently trying to get a couple other things (mud flaps and side emblems) installed on my off day. The recent hurricane has them short staffed so I can understand the delay in the service department.The only regret I have is me not taking my time with decisions involving interior and exterior insurances for paint, rims and leather seats. I should’ve had my calculator handy to get better clarity because this adds to your note.

The parts and service department are always very helpful. Wouldn’t give them anything but a great review. The corporate bean counters need to rethink their fees. The shop charge of $25 on a $157 dollar repair seems excessive. Almost criminal. This is the kind of thing that will drive customers away.

I bought Honda Pilot elite 2017 in Jan/Feb of 2017. Unfortunately, today when I was doing detailed cleaning I found that the back tailgate cover was not aligned on the right side. While on the left side it sits perfectly but there is a gap and misshaped tailgate which doesn’t sits level when closed. I am shocked because for 3 years I had been driving it but when I started doing the detailed cleaning I learned about this defect. I have contacted the corporate office and waiting for reply back. This is factory made defect. One important thing this dealer had to get the vehicle from Oklahoma. I spent close to $50,000 & thats what I get. I will keep you posted what they are going to do with my complaint. I have pictures and will share it on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. If needed.

I went for an oil change. It took one hour like they said it would. I forgot to tell them synthetic oil . They used a type of oil used for a Honda and said they would change it if I wanted to. Made appointment for 10am oil change. Waited 3 hours. I understand if you just drop in, but 3 hours for an oil change when you made an appointment is ridiculous. Maybe make some appointment times unavailable if you are overwhelmed.

The work as satisfactory. But it was 1hour after my appointment time before they took my car for service. Also, in this Covid-19 time none of the employees wore masks. They did have a few protective measures in place for customers. Most of the customers did wear masks.

Soon as I pulled out of the dealership my light low pressure tire light came on. I stopped to recalibrate and it came in again. My tires were supposed to be roadster and balanced at the dealership so how did this happen? Yes this is a simple matter but this should have already been done at the dealership because it was one of the things I went for. I first brought my Honda to Mike Smith’s hoping they could help my figure out why my car was suddenly vibrating. Kevin was patient, kind and spoke in laments terms to me. They found out the issue and gave me a full car checkup at no cost. Now, unfortunately I am unable to pay for what is needing to be done at the moment but I am saving and in the mean time I bring my car in for oil changes. I’ve been at Mike Smith Honda in Beaumont since 7:40 for an oil change scheduled for 7:45. It’s now 9:03. The sign on the door says it is Mandatory for customers to wear masks. There are 5 customers… All wearing masks. There are 2 service advisors behind plexiglass, wearing masks. There have been 2 service employees come through and 4 sales people and NONE of them are wearing Masks. Hypocrisy at its finest. Update: checked out at 9:50 am.

Originally everything went well during the purchase of my vehicle. The deal was that I traded in my vehicle for another vehicle and the vehicle that I purchased was around $5,000 dollars less than the one I traded in. Mike Smith owes me the $5,000 dollar difference and promised me the check within 7-10 days after the purchase date. I purchased the car on February 13 and I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY MONEY! My bank has paid them in full for the car that I purchased and they continue to refuse to give me the money that they owe me. We are talking about 21 days and I do not have the money. You should not lie to customers and I do not appreciate this. I was a repeat customer trying to keep my business local and this is how I am treated.

Great experience with service Department. Easy to make an appointment and service coupons are nice way to bring you in for service. They check other items and give a price without high pressure to fix them, but when they spot something like a bad battery I’m glad they find it before I’m stranded out some where. Friendly and fair and fast. Being able to book appointments online is great.

Decent selection of preowned vehicles, priced cheaper than philpott. Our salesman was very pushy and tried to have me sign papers without giving me time to read over them while my fiance was busy on the phone. He also told us not to worry about gap insurance as it was covered under the warranty, which was not true. Once I put my foot down and told him to back off, he had us speak with the finance guy who put my worries to rest, and had up call our insurance to reinstate gap insurance. Again, prices are affordable for the most part and they offer great warranties. But I can’t give them five stars because our salesman was just way too pushy and not very knowledgeable about what they offer.
